Catching Up With Ray Robinson – Welterweight contenders Ray Robinson and Yordenis Ugas classh this Saturday night in co-feature action at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The fight isset to air on the Showtime broadcast Saturday night in support of the Danny Garcia vs Brandon Rios main event and as such, is the biggest fightof both men’s career.
Robinson (24-2) has worked hard to get back to this point. In 2010 he took a loss to Shawn Porter, who went on to win world championships and still resides in the division’s top 5. Meanwhile Robinson put in the work, going 13-0 since that defeat to earn this title eliminator fight with the rugged Ugas. Robinson is now 32 years old and he must feel the time is ripe for him to step up and that all starts for him with a win over Ugas this Saturday.
In Ugas he is facing a battle-tested veteran ho is on a streak of his own. For more on Ugas check out “Yordenis Ugas 2016 Comeback of the Year.”
As always, our “on the spot” cameraman Marcelino Castillo was there to catch Ray Robinson as he faced the media during fight week.
