This Saturday, October 27th at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden Theater, HBO boxing and the promotional team of Eddie Hearns and Lou DiBella will be presenting Daniel “Miracle Man” Jacobs vs Sergiy “the Technician” Derevyanchenko. Jacobs (34-2-0, 29 KO’s) vs Derevyanchenko (12-0-0, 10 KO’s) will be competing for the vacant IBF middleweight world title at 160 pounds.
According to DiBella, Jacobs and Derevyanchenko have probably sparred 100 rounds with each other. He believes it’s a true 50/5o fight. HBO will televise the event this Saturday at 10:00 p.m. ET.
Boxing analyst Frank Lotierzo takes an in-depth look at Saturday’s world title fight and breaks it down for us. He covers a variety of topics, including: how much of a role will Derevyanchenko’s extensive amateur experience play in this fight, will age be a factor, who has the better inside/outside game? Lotierzo also discusses whether or not the fact that the fight is being held in Jacobs’ backyard will influence the judging. Who does Lotierzo believe will win this fight? If Jacbos wins, will his next fight be against Jermall Charlo?
