Lotierzo Talks Jarrett Hurd Versus Erislandy Lara Post Fight – Saturday, April 7th at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the Premier Boxing Champions presented a world title unification bout in the 154-pound weight class. Undefeated Jarrett “Swift” Hurd (22-0-0, 15 KOs) faced Cuba’s Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara (25-3-2, 14 KOs) with the IBF and WBA super welterweight titles on the line.
Hurd (22-0, 15 KOs), who entered as IBF Champion, dethroned the WBA Champion in just the seventh unification fight in division history. The difference was a short left hook that floored Lara in the final minute of the fight. Had the 27-year-old Hurd not scored the knockdown, the fight would have been ruled a majority draw.
In the co-main event Caleb Truax (29-4-2, 18 KOs) faced James Degale (24-2-1, 14 KOs)in a rematch with the IBF world super middleweight title on the line. Truax won the first match but this time Degale ended up victorious via unanimous decision with scores of 110-117 and 113-114 x2.
