The fight took place at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada and was live by HBO pay-per-view.
In a amazing match, Canelo Alvarez defeated Gennady “GGG” Golovkin via majority decision to become the new WBC and WBA middleweight champion. Glenn Feldman scored the fight 114-114 with Dave Moretti and Steve Weisfeld scoring it 115-113 in favor of Alvarez.
“If the people want another fight then we’ll do it again. We’ll do it, no doubt.” Canelo said after the fight. Golovkin was not happy with the decision and immediately walked out of the ring.
