Mikey Garcia “I Want To Win Titles in Multiple Divisions”
Nov 06 2017 6:48 PM

Mikey Garcia – Our TBC cameraman Marcelino Castillo caught up with undefeated lightweight champion Mikey Garcia to talk about the young Californian’s plans for 2018.

Garcia currently holds the 135 pound title with the WBC and he is coming off a July victory over former world champion Adrien Broner at 140 pounds. Garcia is comfortable operating in both weight classes at this point and he did not vacate his WBC belt to fight in a higher weight class. Garcia is planning to operate in both weight classes for the foreseeable future, and he has targeted a 2018 meeting with WBA lightweight champion Jorge Linares to unify the belts.

But Garcia’s plans do not end there. The 29 year old returned in July of 2016 after a layoff of two and a half years. He was 34-0 when he went into his self-imposed hiatus from the sport and it is clear that this is a man with a game plan. Check out more of what Garcia had to day in this TBC exclusive.
