Erislandy Lara vs Yuri Foreman Talk – WBA “Super World” 154-pound champion Erislandy Lara takes on veteran Yuri Foreman in the main event of the Premier Boxing Champions 2017 kick-off event this coming Friday, January 13th. The live event comes to us from the Hialeah Park Casino in Hialeah, Florida and the seven fight card will see feature bouts air on Spike TV in the United States.
Foreman is 34-2, but he last fought in a bout slated for 10 or more rounds back in March of 2011 when he was stopped by Pawel Wolak. Though he is 6-0 since then, that has all been in 6 and 8 round matches. If you remember Foreman, it is likely for his June of 2010 bout with Miguel Cotto, but that fight is now six-and-a-half years in the past.
Lara (23-2-2) is coming off a 2016 where he managed only one fight, his UD title defense against Vanes Martirosyan back in May. Lara is a massive favorite (-7000 at some books) and is expected to get by Foreman and move on to more difficult match-ups in a talent-filled super welterweight division.
