This Saturday, November 14th in Dessau, Germany WBO World Female Super Featherweight champion Ramona Kuehne puts her title on the line as she faces undefeated Erika Calderas.
Kalderas, from Hungary, brings an (11-0) record to this title fight.
Kalderas is just 21 years old, and in contrast to her opponent, she has been fighting professionally less than a year.
The match-up between Kuehne and Kalderas came up on short notice for both women, as Kuehne was originally scheduled to face Cecilia Braekhus on October 24th As the support co-feature to the Wladimir Klitschko vs Tyson Fury Heavyweight title bout.
When that entire event was postponed, Kuehne took the fight with Kalderas in her home country.
Kuehne has been a professional nearing 10 years now, and she holds a fine record of (23-1).
She won her last outing this past August, but prior to that Kuehne had not fought in sixteen months.
While the experience factor is clearly on Kuehne's side, Kalderas is 14 years younger and she will look to check the champion early for signs of ring rust and age.
With a win here, look for Kuehne to try and politic for the match with Braekhus again, as that fight would be considered a landmark fight between decorated women's champions and has a lot of appeal.
Kalderas has plans of her own however. Who will win? We will see this Saturday night in Germany.
