Groves vs Cox Is Official in London- George Groves and Jamie Cox both made their super middleweight title bout official Friday by coming in under the 168 lb limit.
Groves will be defending his WBA world title and the match is a quarterfinal of the World Boxing Super Series super middleweight tournament. Groves is the tournament’s #1 seed and he was able to select his first round opponent. In opting to fight Cox, Groves is looking to shut the mouth of one of his critics as Cox has been lobbying for a big fight for a long time. The winner of Saturday’s fight is said to be heading to a meeting with fellow Brit Chris Eubank Jr, who won his quarterfinal match this past weekend in Germany.
