Breaking Down Joshua Versus Wilder Odds With Lotierzo – One of the most expected matches in recent years could end up finally taking place. The reference is to the WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay “Bronce Bomber” Wilder (40-0-0, 39 KOs) versus IBF, WBO and WBA champ Anthony “AJ” Joshua (21-0-0, 19 KOs) for the supremacy of the “Big Guys” division.
Wilder defeated Luis Ortiz in his last fight. He overcame difficulty and knocked Ortiz out in round 10 to retain his title in front of a crowd of 14,069 at Barclays Center. Wilder was hurt badly in round 7 by a left hand from Ortiz. The Bomber used rounds 8 and 9 to rest up and hurt Ortiz with a right hand at the end of round 9. Wilder then unloaded on a tiring Ortiz in round 10, dropping him twice before the match was halted by referee David Fields. The official time of the stoppage was at 2:05 of round 10.
“AJ” faced Joseph Parker last March 31st. Joshua was forced to go the distance to defeat Parker via a 12-round unanimous decision to claim the WBO title as well as retain his WBA and IBF belts. The judges scored the fight 118-110, 118-110 and 119-109 in favor of Joshua.
