Joshua vs Klitschko Sells Out Wembley This Week – Wembley Arena, The UK’s 80,000-plus seat arena will be outfitted for boxing on April 23rd as IBF world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua defends his title against former champion Wladimir Klitschko.
Promoter Eddie Hearn has indicated that he will be looking to break the modern record for boxing attendance in England with this fight, and there is talk of the potential to pack closer to 90,000 people into the building come April. Hearn has managed the 26-year-old 2012 Olympic gold medalist Joshua since he turned professional and Joshua is considered to be “ahead of schedule” in terms of career path, having won a world title in just his sixteenth pro fight.
Fighting Klitschko, who dominated the heavyweight division for nearly a decade, is seen as the biggest challenge out there for Joshua at this time. Down the line, a match-up between Joshua and undefeated Tyson Fury could potentially threaten this fight’s box office take, should the former champion Fury elect to mount a comeback.
