Korobov Comeback – This Friday at the Oceola Heritage Center in Kissimmee, Florida former WBO middleweight world title challenger Matt Korobov returns for the third fight of his 2016 comeback as he faces veteran Scott Sigmon.

In December of 2014 the then undefated Korobov faced England’s Andy Lee (33-2) for the vacant WBO version of the world middleweight title. Korobov was outboxed and eventually stopped in the sixth round. Following that fight, Korobov took a year off, returning in January of 2016. He has fought two 8-round bouts already this year, including a fight with veteran Brian Vera, and he has gone 2-0. For this one he moves up to fight Sigmon (27-9-1), a fighter who has faced the likes of Lanell Bellows, Caleb Truax, J’Leon Love and Kelly Pavlik, so he has been around the block. At 33 years old, Korobov is trying to amass wins and get back in the title picture quickly.

The fight is the headline bout of a seven fight card being promoted by Bob Arum and Top Rank. The Korobov bout will air on UniMas in the United States. Two attractive 8-round bouts are expected to air as well. Check your local listings for start times.
