Lomachenko vs Sosa Final Press Conference – This Saturday night, April 8th Bob Arum and his Top Rank boxing present a world championship double header at the MGM Theater in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
The fight everyone is waiting for sees WBO world champion at 130 pounds Vasyl Lomachenko making another title defense as he faces the challenge of rugged Jason Sosa. The co-feature sees the WBO cruiserweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk set to face undefeated American challenger Michael Hunter.
Lomachenko and Usyk are both from the Ukraine and came up representing their country internationally as amateurs before bursting up on the professional scene after the 2012 Olympic games. Both men are considered to be among the most gifted technicians in their weight classes and both men are in fights tha tsee them enter the ring considerable favorites.
As for Sosa, he went 2-0 in world title fights in 2016 and is by no means a slouch. He has done all his work recently overseas and held the WBA version of the world belt and he happens to be fighting about 100 miles from his hometown of Camden, New Jersey. Facing Usyk will be the undefeated Hunter, who went to the 2012 Olympic games for the United States and has gone a perfect 12-0 as a professional.
