R.I.P. Luis Rosa – The boxing world has experienced another tragedy, as the sport lost young Luis Rosa last night in a car accident.

Rosa (23-1) last fought in November when he lost a split decision to Yuandale Evans that aired on Showtime. The 26 year old was born in Puerto Rico but had been fighting out of New Haven, Connecticut as a professional. Born Luis Angel Rosa, his father was a boxer before him and he came from a boxing family. He went by “KO King” as a nickname and he is also remembered for a strong amateur career.

In memory of Luis Rosa, we are joined by veteran boxer and Connecticut resident John “The Iceman” Scully to talk about the young man on this tragic day. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Rosa family and to other victims of last night’s accident. Several reports state two other passengers remain in serious condition.

The family has turned to the Internet for help. Below is a link to their GOFUNDME page. The amount being requested is truly modest so please give if you are able. GOFUNDME Page for Luis Rosa and Family.
