Nonito Donaire “I’m Excited About A Frampton Fight” – Former multiple division world champion Nonito Donaire was in Lancaster to catch the Jessie Vargas vs Aaron Herrera fight and our TBC cameras caught up with him.
We last saw Donaire in September when he picked up a win over Ruben Hernandez for a WBC Silver belt in the featherweight division. Prior to that, he fell short in a bout against Jesse Magdaleno in November of 2016 with the WBO bantamweight world title at stake. Many felt that the loss to Magdaleno, a younger fighter, might signal the end of the road for Donaire, but that is not the case.
Donaire has a showdown with Carl Frampton on his mind for 2018 and he reports both parties are talking about the fight. The 35-year-old “Filipino Flash” reports he is re-invigorated and he is charting a return to the top. At 38-4, Donaire is one of the most experienced fighters out there and his resume consists of top notch talent over the last decade. Check out what else Donaire had to say in this short TBC “Sound Byte.”
