Parker vs Ruiz Heavyweight Bout – Saturday sees the Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand host an eight fight boxing card that sees Joseph Parker (21-0) facing Andy Ruiz Jr (29-0) for the vacant WBO world heavyweight title.

The belt was famously vacated by Tyson Fury earlier this year, and the WBO moved quickly to make this fight and fill the belt. Parker is ranked #1 by the WBO, and ranked #2 is Wladimir Klitschko. However, Klitschko is injured and targeting an April return to face IBF world titleholder Anthony Joshua. Ranked #3 by the WBO is the undefeated Ruiz, making this the best available fight for the WBO.

Joshua competes Saturday in Manchester, England as he defends his belt against Eric Molina, and the Eddie Hearn promoted Manchester Arena card also features heavyweights Luis Ortiz (26-0) vs David Allen (9-1-1) and Dereck Chisora (26-6) vs Dillian Whyte (19-1) in what is a major weekend of fights for boxing’s glamour division.
