R.I.P. Cesar Diaz – Golden Boy Promotions issued a short press release earlier today announcing the passing of prospect 20 year old bantamweight prospect Cesar Diaz.
Diaz turned professional in July of 2016, just one day short of his nintheenth birthday and he went 7-0 in his short professional career. Diaz’ pro career came after a decorated amateur run that saw him catch the eye of many boxing experts.He fought his entire pro career under the Golden Boy flag and he last fought on November 2nd, defeating Pedro Melo at the Casino del Sol in Tucson, Arizona.

LOS ANGELES (Nov. 25, 2017): Everyone at Golden Boy Promotions is heartbroken over the passing of Cesar Diaz over Thanksgiving weekend. As talented and aggressive as he was in the ring, anyone who met Cesar knew how kind and nice he was outside of it. Our thoughts and prayers are with Cesar’s girlfriend who remains in critical condition and his entire family.
