Abel Sanchez “I Have To Give Team Canelo The Benefit Of The Doubt” – On April 18th the Nevada State Athletic Commission formally suspended Mexican boxing star Saul “Canelo” Alvarez for six months after he tested positive for the banned substance clenbuterol. Canelo claimed that the positive test was the result of tainted meat he consumed at his home in Guadalajara.
Gennady Golovkin’s trainer, Abel Sanchez doesn’t doubt anything Canelo’s team said but thinks that if Alvarez is a clean fighter he has to prove it in the future.
Sanchez says they have to focus on GGG’s new opponent, Vanes “Nightmare” Martirosyan (36-3-1, 21 KOs). This match will take place on May 5th at the Stubhub Center in Carson, California.
Our man Marcelino Castillo was at he NSAC hearing and talked with Abel Sanchez.
