Wow! “It is Brandon Rios's night,” so says T-Du — stepson of da Bobfather. T-Du came weak with it. He ain't his Bobdaddy no doubt. Holla!

Rios-Chaves is going to be one heck of a fight. There is no way this can't be good and mark my works it will be a fight of the year candidate.

Top Rank seems to realize what they have in Rios. He is never going to out box anybody and will have issues with fighters that have speed and box from the outside. However, Rios is always willing to get in a brawl and actually seems to enjoy it. So why not put him in with another brawler? Even with a loss, Rios is what he is. and fans will still want to see him in the right matchups. As will HBO who is always on the look out for Gatti like fighters and as long as Rios is remotely competitive and makes good action fights will always have a date for him.

There are a few fights in this sport too that seem inevitable at some point. One such fight is a rubber match between Rios and Alvarado. It will happen at some point and actually I believe is very possible for early 2015 regardless of the result in this fight for Rios.

This fight can live up to the FOTY hype and it all depends on the fight Chaves chooses to fight, IMO. He has the overall greater skill and can control the ebb and flow of this fight. He can use his legs a bit and use angles to make it easier on himself but probably not be able to KO Rios that way. If he ends up fighting a more inside fight I think its a coin flip and it will be a bloody fight for both.(with Rios smiling ear to ear) I haven't seen Chaves fight since the Thurman fight but he was impressive in spots during that bout against “One Time”.
