Top Rank at MSG – Irish Eyes Are Smiling in New York City as Saint Patrick’s Day weekend festivities got started at the Madison Square Garden Theater on Friday night.

Bob Arum and Top Rank reserved the intimate venue for a special card featuring several sterling prospects from TR’s international roster. Robson Conceicao of Brazil and Teofimo Lopez of Honduras both moved to 3-0 since debuting for Top Rank shortly after last year’s Rio Olympics.

MMA Star Conor McGregor was in Conlan’s corner and there were River Dancers, Bag Pipers and people who know all the words to “Danny Boy” filling the house to capacity to see the young Irish star. Conlan slowly picked up the pace against a game opponent, and early in the third round the referee stepped in to stop the fight as Conlan was landing a barrage of punches.

In the main event that played second fiddle, Alex Saucedo moved to 24-0 with a second round TKO over Johnny Garcia.

Don’t forget, the boxing fun is just getting started on Broadway as Saturday night sees Madison Square Garden’s big hall hosting HBO pay=per-view’s Gennady Golovkin versus Daniel Jacobs middleweight showdown.
