What If Floyd Mayweather Jr Faced Edwin Valero – What If? – It is a showdown of two of boxing’s all-time great boxers as we look at what if Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. (50-0-0, 27 KOs) had met Edwin “El Inca” Valero (27-0-0, 27 KOs) in the ring?

Floyd Joy Mayweather Jr. competed from 1996 to 2007 and 2009 to 2015, and made a one-fight comeback in 2017. During his career, he held multiple world titles in five weight classes and the lineal championship in four weight classes (twice at welterweight), and retired with an undefeated record of 50–0, the second highest undefeated streak in the modern era of boxing after Ricardo Lopez.

Mayweather is a three-time winner of the Boxing Writers Association of America Fighter of the Year award (2007, 2013, and 2015), and a six-time winner of the Best Fighter ESPY Award (2007–2010, 2012–2014). In 2016, Mayweather was ranked by ESPN as the greatest boxer, pound for pound, of the last 25 years.

Edwin Valero (December 3, 1981 – April 19, 2010) was a Venezuelan professional boxer who competed from 2002 to 2010. He was an undefeated former world champion in two weight classes at the time of his death, having held the WBA super featherweight title from 2006 to 2008, and the WBC lightweight title from 2009 to 2010. A southpaw known for his highly aggressive style and exceptional punching power, Valero remains the only champion in the 30-year history of the WBC to win every fight in his career by knockout. In 2010, Valero committed suicide in jail after being arrested on suspicion of killing his wife.

Who better than Frank Lotierzo to look at all the possibilities of a Mayweather vs Valero matchup?
