Fourth fight: Jonathan Navarro beat Damon Allen by TKO in seven rounds and 1:33.
The fight was very intense. Navarro took command from the beginning and took the best part of the fight by connecting with heavy shots. Navarro finished with Allen after a series of right hands that sent him to the canvas and forced the referee to stop the action.
Main event: Joseph “JoJo” Diaz showed off his good boxing skills to beat the Puerto Rican Jesus Rojas by unanimous decision in twelve rounds. Scorecards: 117-111; 116-112; 115-113.
The bout was for the WBA featherweight title, but Diaz could not be crowned tonight because he failed to make weight, coming in 6 ounces over the featherweight limit. However, the victory leaves him with a foot in the door of another title shot.
The fight had a good pace. Diaz repeatedly threw punches to the side and face of Rojas who, although he went in as the champion, did not show his best card in the attack.
