Puerto Rico’s Jose Pedraza (25-1-0, 12 KOs) became a two division world champion with a 12-round unanimous decision over Ray Beltran (35-8-1, 21 KOs), to capture the WBO lightweight title in the main event of Top Rank on ESPN at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
The official scorecards were 117-110, 117-110 and 115-112 – and now Pedraza moves forward to a December 1 unification with WBA champion Vasiliy Lomachenko (11-1, 9 KOs).
In the co-feature of the night, Ghana’s Isaac “Royal Storm” Dogboe (20-0-0, 14 KOs) made the first defense of his WBO junior featherweight title with a first round knock out of Japanese challenger Hidenori Otake (31-3-3, 14 KOs).
