Erickson Lubin Talks To TBC Pre Fight – saturday night, March 4th sees the Barclays center in Brooklyn, New York host the Premier Boxing Champions and Showtime as the two combine to put on a major fight card that will see the featured bouts air on CBS in the United States. The main event sees welterweight title unification action as Danny Garcia faces Keith Thurman with the winner going home with the WBC and WBA world titles belts.

A second 12 round bout has been given a spotlight on CBS and that fight features undefeated prospect Erickson Lubin (17-0) as he faces Jorge Cota (25-1). Lubin had a strong 2016, going 4-0 and appearing on several of the PBC broadcasts in matches against experienced foes. This match with Cota is a semi-final eliminator for the WBC world super welterweight title held by Jermell Charlo and is considered a step up in competition. Lubin was one of the favorites to win Olympic gold in 2016’s Rio Olympic, but the youngster gae up a promising amateur career to turn professional.

Cota is a solid fighter whose lone career loss came back o June of 2012 to Marco Antonio Rubio, but h has gone 9-0 since then. Now 29 years old, Cota is returning to action for the first time in a year and a half.
