Lotierzo Looks at the Super Featherweight Division (130 LBS) – The 2017 calendar year saw WBO world super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko lay claim to the #1 spot in the weight class. Lomachenko, who goes by the nickname “Hi-Tech,” went 3-0 in the last 12 months to lay his claim to the #1 spot.

Lomachenko started off the year with a dominant performance over Jason Sosa in April. He continued his run in August with a stoppage win over Miguel Marriaga and he ended the year with a decisive win over Guillermo Rigondeaux. All three men were world champions and decorated boxers but none of them could slow down the attack Lomachenko brought with him. Can anyone at 130 pounds present a threat to his dominance?

Lomachenko is eventually expected to head to the 135-pound lightweight division where perhaps more serious challenges await. If that happens, the weight class will find itself wide open with a lot of talent logjammed under the dominant Lomachenko.

In this latest year end installment we are once again joined by our “killer” analyst Frank Lotierzo to talk more in-depth about the 126 pounders as we head into calendar year 2018. Do not miss what Frank has to say right here at TBC.
