Lotierzo Breaks Down Usyk vs Briedis Post-Fight – This past Saturday night in Riga, Latvia Oleksandr Usyk advanced into the finals of the WBSS cruiserweight tournament with a majority decision win over Mairis Briedis. The win gave Usyk two world titles at 200 pounds as he defended his WBC belt while adding the WBO world title formerly in Briedis’ hands.

Usyk entered the tournament as the #1 eed and he stopped veteran Marco Huck in the quartefinal rounds to earn the fight with Briedis. He now moves on to the finals where he awaits the winner of next Saturday’s showdown between IBF world champion Murat Gassiev and WBA titlist Yunier Dorticos. If all goes according to plan, the tournament finals will go down in the May timeframe and will result in one fighter unifying the four major world titles in the weight class.

In this latest TBC report, our “killer” analyst Frank Lotierzo gives us his take on this past Saturday’s WBSS cruiserweight semi-final.
