Bob Arum Honored – This week venerable promoter Bob Arum and his Top Rank Promotions have been in Las Vegas all week as he gears up for this Saturday night’s HBO broadcast featuring Vasyl Lomachenko vs Nicholas Walters.

Arum has been unabashed in his praise of Lomachenko, who he mentioned in the same breath as Muhammad Ali at one point during this week’s build-up. The beginning of November saw Arum holding court in Vegas as he put on the Manny Pacquiao versus Jessie Vargas pay per view. That card featured a plethora of international talent that included China’s Zou Shiming winning the WBO world flyweight title to become China’s first boxing world champion.

The weigh-ins for Saturday’s fight took place at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas on Friday, and the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame seized the opportunity to honor Arum and give him a plaque commemorating Saturday’s fight as the 2000th show promoted by Arum.

The octogenarian Arum shows no signs of slowing down, and he recently went on an international binge, signing talent from all over the world to add to his already multi-faceted stable. Check out this Bob Arum interview where he discusses some of those resent signees with Arne K Lang of The Sweet Science.
