Eddie Hearn Plans a Huge Show in Chicago on October 6th – In conjunction with the U.S. launch of DAZN, an on-demand sports streaming service, Great Britain’s powerhouse promoter Eddie Hearn announced plans for a big show in Chicago on October 6th.
Former world title-holders Jessie Vargas and Demetrius Andrade and heavyweight contender Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller will appear against opponents to be named. In addition, Artur Bieterbiev will defend his IBF light heavyweight title against Callum Johnson and WBO/IBF female lightweight champion Katie Taylor will risk her belt against Brooklyn’s Cindy Serrano. Taylor, Ireland’s most decorated amateur boxer ever, has a tune-up later this month in London with 37-year-old Arkansas no-hoper Kimberly Connor.
The Chicago show will be held at Wintrust Arena. Chicago’s newest sporting venue, Wintrust is home to the Depaul University basketball team and the WNBA’s Chicago Sky. — AKL
