Kid Hersh Talks Jermall Charlo vs Julian Williams – Showtime boxing recently announced IBF World 154 pound champion Jermall Charlo’s latest title defense as he is signed to face undefeated Julian Williams (22-0-1) of Philadelphia this coming December 10th in Los Angeles.
The fight comes at a time when the super welterweight division is stacked with talent. Charlo has a twin brother named Jermell who is 28-0 and holds the WBC world title at 154 pounds. Stablemate Erislandy Lara (23-2-2) holds the WBA’s version. The WBO belt is currently held by Mexico’s Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
The respected Transnational Boxing Rankings Board currently ranks Jermall Charlo #3 and Julian Williams #7 in the crowded weight class that also includes undefeated former world champion Demetrius Andrade and England’s Liam Smith. Neither man lacks for confidence and neither has been called shy, so the build-up for this one has a lot of people talking.
