Kovalev vs Shabranskyy Hits Broadway on Saturday – The light heavyweight division steps front and center this Saturday night in NYC as Sergey Kovalev takes on Vyacheslav Shabranskyy in HBO’s main event. The fight is for the vacant WBO world light heavyweight title as Kovalev looks to regain the belt once in his possession.

Kovalev (3o-2-1) lost the WBO belt to Andre Ward, along with several other titles and the belts at 175 lbs are out there and fragmented since Ward’s subsequent retirement. Kovalev went 0-2 against Ward but those results do not sit well with the “Krusher” and with Ward out of the way, Kovalev has his mind set on getting all his old belts back.
